Charter Communications lost my payment. The September statement showed past due amount. We verified with the bank that the check had cleared (been cashed). We went to a payment center and the "customer service" rep said they needed a copy of the front and back of the check to see what account it was credited to. I went back to my bank and was told that Charter is like Wal-Mart in that they process the checks electronically and the bank does not get the paper copy sent to them. So CHARTER has the check. There is no local number where anyone will answer and the 1-888 number goes to oblivion when I tried to go to billing inquires. Poor customer service, no local people who know anything.
